Exploring Gel Electrophoresis

This event is no longer on sale.

Tuesday March 6

2:00 PM  –  4:00 PM

Gel electrophoresis is a powerful tool used by researchers to isolate and purify small molecules such as proteins and DNA. In this program, students will learn how gel electrophoresis works and then will perform all the steps involved in this technique from pouring a gel to loading DNA samples and analyzing the DNA banding pattern on a developed gel.

Note: Parents do not need to attend the lab with their child but do need to remain in the Museum.
